In today’s #FaithandCulture Reading, we cull a brief list of some of our favorite articles of the week. Today we highlight resources from Greg Mathias, Anna Schaeffer, Jen Oshman and Tom Nelson.

Worship When You’re Weary

Anna Schaeffer offers wisdom about worshiping during the difficult seasons of life in this article at Baptist Press. She writes,

I’m not a master of weathering difficult days. Far from it. At the end of the day though, Christ is my reward. Knowing that, I am able to worship in my weariness.

Where Are We Placing Our Hope, Moms?

Jen Oshman offers a word of Mothers Day encouragement at The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. She writes,

This Mother’s Day afternoon, I really do hope you get that nap. You are physically tired for good reason. Motherhood is hard. But more than a nap, may you receive real rest. Soul rest. Rest that comes from Christ alone.

How to Pray When You Hate Your Job

Do you hate your job? Here are some simple prayers you can pray, courtesy of Tom Nelson at Made to Flourish. He writes,

In this fallen world, the work we are called to do and the workplaces we inhabit will be a mixture of the good, the bad, and the ugly, but we must remember that one day, in the new heavens and new earth, our work will be filled with joy and delight in a sinless reality.

Feeble Prayers in our Chaotic World

In light of recent tragedies, Greg Mathias offers wisdom for how we can pray. Here’s an excerpt of his article at our sister blog, The Center for Great Commission Studies:

When you pray, express those emotions and even your questions to God. God is big enough and caring enough to handle our emotions, our questions, and our heartfelt cries.
