America’s Pastor: Billy Graham and the Shaping of a Nation

Video Icon

Today, Billy Graham passed away at the age of 99. As Christianity Today notes,

Billy Graham was perhaps the most significant religious figure of the twentieth century, and the organizations and the movement he helped spawn continue to shape the twenty-first.

In 2014, Grant Wacker came to Southeastern Seminary to speak on the life and legacy of Billy Graham. Wacker, the Gilbert T. Rowe Professor Emeritus of Christian History at Duke Divinity School, presented a fascinating lecture on the impact that Graham has had on American culture. Wacker focused on the cultural forces that shaped Graham, and the way Graham in turn influenced modern life.
