If you’ve read C.S. Lewis‘ Chronicles of Narnia, perhaps the books have seemed to be a “hodge podge” of styles. J.R.R. Tolkien was famously not a fan of these books for this very reason.
But Lewis wasn’t a “hodge podge” kind of thinker. His other work is rigorous and complex. Is it possible, then, that Lewis intended The Chronicles of Narnia to have such a diverse style? Did Lewis have a uniting theory behind these books?
