By Intersect Staff

One of the pillars of the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture is the Mentorship Program — a program designed to mentor a small number of students interested in thinking critically about crucial cultural issues in light of biblical Christianity. Each year, the Mentorship Program studies a different topic, and this year’s theme was faith and science.

As part of the program, students were encouraged to contribute articles to Intersect, the content hub of the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture. At the end of the year, three students would be selected for prizes based on the number and quality of the articles they submitted and had published.

Today, we’re proud to announce the winners:

Kerissa Armstead

First Place: Kerissa Armstead

Kerissa Armstead is student in the SEBTS Biblical Women’s Institute program and participates in the Bush Center for Faith and Culture Mentorship program. She teaches high school science in Franklin County, NC. Here are her articles:

Robert Andrew Wood

Second Place: Robert Andrew Wood

Robert Wood is pursuing an MDiv in Biblical and Theological Studies from Southeastern Seminary and is participating in the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture mentorship. When he is not reading for school, he likes to spend time with his wife, paint, game, and drink coffee. Read his articles:

  • Why I’m No Longer a Pacifist
“To see Christ as only a peace-making savior is to gloss over His nature of right king and ruler of all of creation.”

Third Place: James Chadwell

James Chadwell is an M.Div student at SEBTS, and is a participant in the CFC Mentorship because of a desire to better serve the church and build up God’s people. James is married to Leigh-Ellen, and they have 4 children. James’ article is scheduled to be published later this week.
