In today’s #FaithandCulture Reading, we cull a brief list of some of our favorite articles of the week. Today, we highlight articles from Trisha Taylor, Jenn Hesse, Julie Owen, Marylou Springer and Kevin S. Hall.

Moving Beyond Burnout

Over at UBA Houston, Trisha Taylor confesses her own burnout and addiction to busyness, and she encourages us to evaluate our own lives. She writes,

Overextended, resentful, and exhausted Christians are at best useless and at worst dangerous to the kingdom of God.

Why Adoption Is a Redemptive Pro-Life Option

Jenn Hesse makes the case for adoption and urges mothers to choose life in this article at The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. She writes,

We need to share the good news that adoption can help redeem the difficulties of unplanned pregnancy and positively impact all involved in the adoption triad.

Annual Oxford Tour Engages Students in History of Christianity

Each year, students from Southeastern Seminary and Southwestern Seminary journey together to the Oxford Study Tour. A few weeks ago, Rebecca Hankins shared on Intersect how the trip changed her. In this article, Julie Owens from Southwestern Seminary writes about the trip as well. Here’s an excerpt of her article:

‘This trip brings what we learn in the classroom to life in so many ways,’ says Hamby. ‘Not only does the history come to life, but so will friendships that you never saw coming.’
